Qualifications

Passion for the mission of The Luger Foundation • Relevant experience or expertise in one of the open board positions

Commitment to attending board meetings and actively participating in board activities

Strong communication and collaboration skills • Prior non-profit board experience is a plus but not required.

Location: St. Paul/Minneapolis (Remote) • Type: Volunteer •. Commitment: 8-10 Hours per month + Quarterly Board Meetings

  • Responsibilities:

    Leadership and Governance: Lead the board in fulfilling its governance responsibilities, ensuring adherence to bylaws and policies.

    Meeting Facilitation: Plan and chair board meetings, set agendas in collaboration with the Executive Director, and ensure meetings are effective and efficient.

    Strategic Oversight: Working with the Executive Director, Guide the board in setting and achieving strategic goals and objectives.

    Board Development: Lead efforts in recruiting, training, and evaluating board members, fostering an engaged and effective board.

    Executive Support: Act as the primary liaison between the board and the Executive Director, providing guidance and support.

  • Responsibilities:

    Support Role: Assist the Board Chair in their duties and assume leadership in their absence.

    Special Projects: Lead specific initiatives or projects as assigned by the Board Chair.

    Committee Oversight: Provide guidance and support to board committees, ensuring they meet their objectives and contribute to the organization’s goals.

  • Responsibilities:

    Record Keeping: Take accurate minutes of board meetings and distribute them in a timely manner.

    Document Management: Maintain and organize all board documents, including bylaws, policies, and meeting records.

    Communication: Ensure effective communication of board actions and decisions to all board members and stakeholders.

    Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to governance.

  • Responsibilities:

    Financial Oversight: Monitor the organization’s financial health and ensure proper financial controls are in place.

    Budgeting: Collaborate with the Executive Director and finance staff to develop and oversee the operational budget as well as budgets specific to various grant opportunities.

    Financial Reporting: Present regular financial reports to the board, highlighting key metrics and financial performance.

    Audit and Compliance: Oversee the annual audit process and ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Responsibilities:

    Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the organization’s financial goals.

    Donor Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and grant-making organizations.

    Grant Writing: Oversee the preparation and submission of grant proposals and reports.

    Event Planning: Organize fundraising events and campaigns to engage donors and raise funds. description

  • Responsibilities:

    Brand Management: Develop and maintain a consistent brand image across all communication channels.

    Media Relations: Build relationships with media outlets and manage press releases, media inquiries, and public statements.

    Content Creation: Oversee the creation of content for newsletters, social media, website, and other communication platforms.

    Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strategies to engage stakeholders and promote the organization’s mission and programs.
